Personally it depend on how much you're willing to spend and what you're using the computer for. If its for college/school work (i.e homework, web, video, etc) any computer is fine (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Acer, etc ) If its for more intense requirement ( Video games, Video editing , work related ) building your own computer would suit you better. Plus it saved a lot more money. In my opinion, for school work, I'll choose either Dell or Apple. Dell only because Dell's computer are usually on sell and offer decent parts. Although sometime customer service can be lacking. Apple because I enjoy using a Mac more than a window based PC. While you are having problems with your Acer computer, who to say that you won't be having those same problems with another brand name computer. What types of problems are you having with your computer, can you give more details? Best of luck.

Apples a huge rip-off. Then again most "brands" are so what can you expect. At least with apple you wont have any ridiculous hardware malfunctions you will encounter with HP, Dell, Compaq, and some of the other "popular" econo-rigs. Definatly steer clear of the really cheap ones (EMachine for example.) The cheap hardware they use from the hard drive to all the way to the cooling fans WILL break down exaclty when you need your computer the most. If you're feeling adventurous then make your own. Get an Intel board if you want a Pentium processor, or an NForce if you want an AMD processor. Samsung Optical Drive(s). Seagate Hard drive. Corsair Memory. Antec Case and Power supply. Viewsonic Monitor. Logitech I/O peripherals. Install Windows Vista Premium. You'll get a nice rig that wont give you problems for a decade.

I'm using an e-Machines right now, and it's worked well for a number of years. Mainly, I credit my antivirus software. I think WalMart sells e-Machines fairly cheap. I bought mine from a catalogue, and it's been a good computer for years. I recently added 1 GB on memory, and it boots up in under a minute and surfs the web three times as fast. Try to get at least 512 MB memory, and it would be great to get 1 GB memory (1024 MB). It means everything to a computer. All tasks are performed significantly faster with more memory. I think all the main computer companies are good (Gateway, Dell, etc), but here is a link to e-Machines: http://www.emachines.com/products/ Customer service has been very good from e-Machines, and I have heard the same thing about Gateway -- good customer service: http://www.gateway.com/

Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to computers. It all depends on what you want your computer to do. I read LOTS and LOTS of reviews. I think that's the best way to decide on your next computer. You have to do a lot of research before you even think about buying one. Think about what you'd be using it for....the best way to learn about computers is to read read read on the internet. Good luck! P.S. Don't let anyone just talk you into buying a certain brand. Do some research, it's worth it.

what are your likes? Games, go for a assembled one, ask for a help from a technician to choose the good hardware devices, this is the same with the internet connection. Or if you want a branded one, try Compaq or dell, much better than a HP and Acer

NO Brand Name is Best! The best computer is the one you build yourself. Intel Mother Board, Dual Core or Quad Core processor, 200 GB Hard Drive, 3GB of RAM, Video card with 256MB RAM on board. DVD/CD burner.

Go to your city representative for help. There are always tons of teen programs for bright youths like yourself. Volunteer at your local YMCA or community center/ Church/. Maybe they have programs already in place. Don't forget family and friends If all else fail. Start your own Computer Business. Contact your local colleges and get information on internships. Until then, start to build your resume'/business experience. Start with a small business plan and go from there. Good Luck!
