Except these are million dollar projects and all i have are things lieing around the house. I want to make something that looks like an animal and realistic i've heard of the toothbrush robot but frankly that is lame so i want to make an animal if u have any suggestions or ideas PLEASE WRITE thanks a million!

First define your project. Another R2D2 ? 1. What will it do 2. Does it have to be pretty, ie a RC car w/o its shell 3. What power is available, Batteries ? $$ 4. Can it be tethered, ie wires to a switch box 5. Will it use wheels. Will need motors and gears 6. Will it use sensors, and electronics to turn their sensing into action. Motor on/off Go to the library

Good question. Personally I am strongly against animal testing but I have thought about the opinions of the other side. The biggest argument for testing is that the products should be 'safe' before they are used on humans, and animals are used to make sure that there are no bad reactions to the product. This is rubbish because animals do not react the same way to products as humans do. A good example is a medication (I know it's not a household product, but still relative) which was tested on rabbits and rats and found to be fine - when it was prescribed to people some became seriously ill and it resulted in deaths. Products which are already known to be safe are tested, along with new ones, because we have to 'move forward' and develop new things. With household products the testing makes even less sense - there was a bleach-based floor cleaner which was fed to rabbits and funnily enough they died. Personally I think if you're stupid enough to ingest floor cleaner you deserve it. They will also argue against the 'new lab test' or 'computer model' theory, which is the method of alternative tests not using animals. Their argument is that this will never be as good as testing on a live animal, but these tests are developing all the time. They are also expensive. While animals are cheaper to use, they will continue to be used. Big companies will not risk their profits for the sake of a few rats or rabbits. If you would like some more answers, I would suggest joining the forum Rabbits United and asking this question in the general chat section. There have been some very good debates on there in the past about animal testing, with people speaking from both sides. If you mention it's for a paper most people will be happy to help you out.

i'm no wild and vicious or i does no longer be having this verbal replace. i think of people have a bond with animals, quite canines and different family pets simply by fact they often tutor devotion to the owner, the likes of which isn't considered by ability of any random man or woman you will be able to fulfill. yet to assert that each physique people are wild and vicious is to assert all of us you have ever understand become wild and vicious...
