As far as I know, not much. Watergate was a scandal involving individuals breaking into the watergate hotel and stealing important documents. I guess you could put a spin on it and say the resulting near impeachment of nixon had to do with the seperation of powers. You may also want to talk about how the executive branch interacts with other previous executive branches since Kennedy pardoned Nixon. That in itself was a sense of Kennedy (executive) interfering with the investigations and impeachment of the judicial and legislative branches. That's as far as I can see it going. Hope that helped. Good luck.

When you give one person/office all the power, there is nothing to keep that person/office from behaving in a corrupt fashion if they so choose. By seperating out power into 3 branches of government (President, Congress, and the Supreme Court), the people are better protected from tyrinical behavior. All three branches of government are equal, so one cannot trump another one. Congress can create laws into being, but needs the president to sign them to make them work. A greater majority can override a presidential veto. The president can sign laws into being or veto them, but cannot create them. He can only suggest them. The Supreme Court can invalidate laws, but cannot create them. Without these checks and balances, the president would effectively become a dictator that can run the country as they please. The founders of our nation were seeking to escape just such a form of government when they wrote the Constitution.

For one thing.... don't listen to the advise that says the other girl is prettier than you. Phsyical beauty has only a small portion of physical attraction. I've seen many people attracted to the most ugly people and it doesn't have so much to do with what they find as physical beauty. It has been shown that the most attractive quality in a person is power (hence the attraction to superstars) and this doesn't necessarily mean President of the US kind of power, but confidence/ self-sufficiency, etc. and the least attractive is bad odor. Anyway, to your question. There are many reasons to explain the lack of connection... he hasn't defined his feelings for you, doesn't understand them, is afraid of them, found you truly as a friend, has reached that level yet, and so on. When I was in high school there was a guy that I hung out with all the time and we were best of friends. Then, one day he kissed me and I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it, but terrified because he was my friend. I was too young to realize the connection we had created as friends was a strong foundation for a good relationship and instead broke it off with him and found some real loosers to wreck havoc in my life. I had a hard time processing the unexpected feelings for him so I ran the other way. Unfortunately, we were both from the US, but not living in the US when we had this friendship. So, when he left to return to the US I never saw him again, ever. Also, it is important to realize that it is possible to be attracted to someone who cannot recipricate. I remember hearing about my niece who told her how her boyfriend insisted they were meant to be together, because that's how he actually felt for her. She didn't feel that way. They ended their relationship and now she is happily married to a wonderful and terrific man. This happens a lot where one person feels they have found "the one" while the other doesn't feel the same way. Relationships are not always about bringing what seems to be a perfect relationship to the next level. ... whether it be to a boyfriend/girlfriend status or all the way to marriage. Sometimes, and many times, it is about learning something from that relationship that you needed to learn, enjoying the experience - in an appropriate way, and moving on when it's time. Perhaps this is the time to move on from this one, enjoy the opportunity that you had with this young man and now go enjoy more good, appropriate times with other young men. You have to date a lot of frogs to find prince charming - and they don't necessarily have to all "frogs", as in this case, but they are all learning experiences to either cherish or warn you in your direction for your future relationships and opportunities. Good luck and keep a good perspective.

Don't think that what you feel is stupid or not real because you're a teenager. If you feel a connection with someone and it's important to you, then it matters. I have been in the same situation with a man who I feel very strongly about, who in fact I love more than any other man I've ever met (and I'm 33 and have met and dated many men and even have been married). But the guy always hinted at how much he cares about me and how strongly he feels about me, but then he never wanted much more than friendship. We would talk endlessly also, and we were physically intimate. It took 2 years of that for me to realize that I could not continue on like that. I needed to either have him totally or stop being friends with him altogether in order to maintain my sanity. It hurt too much to be around him and to not have him totally. So that's where I'm at, and I understand your pain. Unfortunately, unless this guy comes after you and makes it clear that he wants to be your man, I think it might be best to stay away from him. I know it sounds bad, but sometimes I think I'm the brunt of some cosmic joke. I waited 30+ years to meet my soul mate, and when I found him, he didn't feel the same as I did, or at the very least he let his insecurities get in the way of being with me. Why? I have no clue. The only thing I can think of is maybe, just possibly, there is someone else out there who I'm going to love even more, and who will return every bit of my love. I can't understand how it would be possible to love someone more than I love this man, but maybe it will happen... I hope it happens for you too, sweetie. Until then, hang in there and count all your other blessings and be thankful for the people in your life who love you, like friends and family.
