How do you treat a recovering vampire that was in a coma?

How do you treat a recovering vampire that was in a coma? Topic: How to write a care plan for a patient
June 20, 2019 / By Trish
Question: I'm just wondering how they treat coma victims once they recover. And, also if someone became a vampire prior to the coma, how would that affect them? It's just a fanfic I am planning on writing. Any idea? I'm just how an ex-human vampire would occupy with recovery after being in a coma. And, if they are a vampire and put into a coma, how would that affect them as a vampire.

I think most coma recoverers suffer from amnesia, and they're just sent home to the care of their spouse or parents. You need to establish the rules of vampirism in your story. 1. Are vampires destroyed by sunlight? 2. Are vampires immortal even if they don't drink blood? 3. Do people immediately become psychopaths once they turn? 4. Do vampires still look human? 5. Are vampires invisible in mirrors? I'm thinking in a hospital a vampire would either get killed by sunlight real quick or starve for lack of blood. Let's say the doctors notice that their patient reacts badly to sunlight so keep him in a dark room and they also notice that he is some kind of haemophiliac so they keep feeding him more blood. If he wakes up a psycho he'll just start killing. If he wakes up without knowing that he's a vampire then he'll just be kept in that dark room for yonks and fed more and more blood - a medical conundrum.

That would entirely depend on the vampire lore you are working with. Firstly, you've chosen to make it possible for a vampire to actually be in a coma. That would mean they have something in common with humans in terms of brain function. So would they need work to recover all their brain functions like a human would? A human back from a coma usually has to re-learn how to speak, how to move, how to swallow food, speak, walk and so on. They'd also have to regain strength in their muscles if they have been out for a long while (so not only do they need to work on the connection brain-legs, they'd need to work on rebuilding the legs' muscles). Would a coma also affect your vampire's muscles or are they the ever strong kind? What role would blood drinking play in their recovery? Were they fed blood while they were out? If the people caring for them didn't know they were a vampire, would they have fed them human nutrition through a tube and how would that have affected your vampire? If they were not fed at all, how would blood deprivation affect them? There's probably plenty more to think about.

Are you kidding? I just recovered from a long coma, who gives a toss whose birthday people are celebrating? I'm just happy to be alive. Still, now that the euphoria of survival is wearing off, I am a little offended that the nurse didn't pay more attention to my miraculous recovery. Did he or she even tell me how long I was in a coma for? Have I suffered brain damage? Did someone water my plants? Kahnmass or not, it's the nurse's job to tell people these things, not to put up decorations.

Well, you could do anything really. Just depends on how close to humanity you want to portray this vampire to be, physically and/or supernaturally. Some would propose a vampire couldn't possibly get into a coma in the first place, since they're not really alive anymore, and therefore they don't have normal brain function anymore. Something to consider...

There is no more anime after guilty, but the manga does continue after that so you should read it. The manga actually ended not too long ago so you can see its conclusion. Also, let me just say that the last arc of the manga did not do well at all so I almost guarantee there won't be an anime adaptation.
