Applying for a job online or in person?
Topic: Craigslist jobs application
June 16, 2019 / By Caetlin Question:
I am a 19 year old college student and want to work at a retail store such as Target, Walgreens, Best Buy, Kohl's, etc. this summer. I have two options: either apply online through their websites OR physically go into the store and ask if they have job opening and then request an application. Which one is better to do? Thanks in advance :]

I would apply to work as a cashier (front end). It really is your choise. Supermarkets usually interview/hire people without experience, and teach you how to do the job. But, it's not easy getting a job with any supermarket. I job searched from my junior year in high school to the end of my first semester in college, and no supermarket would even look at me. This goes back before our economy went down, and everyone had "help wanted" signs up.
Since you are applying online, submit the application and then call management. Let managment know you applied online, and get any info. if possible. Let them know you are out there, and want to become a team-member. It sometimes takes them a while to get the online applications, because it sometimes gets sent to the home-office first.
Most companies that have an online application system prefer to receive them this way. If you go to the store and give them a paper application, first of all you better have really neat handwriting, but second, that application form is going to end up in a pile on someone's desk. After you have submitted your application online you may wish to visit the store to make sure they received it and to ask what their time frame is. Good Luck.

Target, Walgreens, Best Buy will make you apply on a computer anyway. So you might as well do it from home online. Just make sure you call and check up on your application just to be sure you get and interview.

same result wheather u apply on line or in person or depend on the company. its better to apply on line cuz if they like u, they will call u so u dont waste ur time going there. u can apply for more jobs on line and have a better chances of getting a job.
