This can cause overheating however, i would be more concerned about dust and dirt getting into areas that it isn't suppose to. I would suggest just buying another computer tower. they normally sell pretty cheap. Sometimes as little as $29.99 This would be your best bet. Guru www.computer911support.com

Yep, a little fan placed next to the case will work I was doing the same with my old computer and getting better temps than with the panel closed

The best choice would be an 9800gt, but it is very expensive. Otherwise i would go with something in the 8800 series. Yes u would benefit from 2 8600s in sli because with them in sli ur getting about 1.5 times the performance. But the best choice i would be to get a better video card because an 8800gt runs better that 2 8600s in sli.

The 8600GT is a competent card on your budget and that i prefer to propose it over the 2600 or 3850 you have regarded at from ATI. in case you do finally end up increasing your budget i could stronlgy propose the 8800GT from nvidia because it is between the terrific enjoying cards on the industry and exceeds something the 2600 or 3850 can cope with.
