Question about disclosure statement for direct loans?

Question about disclosure statement for direct loans? Topic: Entrance statement
May 26, 2019 / By Issy
Question: I got my financial aid award notice back in June and have since formally accepted all aid, including student loans. I did all the steps required for accepting the loans (submitting a Master Promissory Note, entrance counseling ect), and I received confirmation from my school that they received my MPN and I should be all set for the Fall, but I have not received a disclosure statement from direct loans. My school told me they didn't know why i haven't received a disclosure statement and to go the nlds website or studentloans.gov, but I didn't find any information except that you should receive it after you submit the MPN and get the green light from your school (which, according to them, I have). So, I tried calling the numbers, but no one seems to be able to tell me why I haven't received it and I kept getting the run around. I need to make sure things will go smoothly with these loans because I cannot afford to pay out of pocket at all. I remember last year I got the disclosure statement almost a month before I even signed an MPN. So, does anyone know who I can call or speak to about this? Should I give it some more time? Is there something I could possibly be missing? Is it possible that I've become lost in the university's bottomless pit of bureaucracy?

That was emailed to me by the government before I signed the MPN. It's also available on studentloans.gov somewhere. If you signed the MPN and your school says you're good to go though, you're fine.

I am expecting a direct deposit, not sure exactly what day since they changed it. The last 2 numbers of my social security number are "48," I thought I'd have it by now but... still waiting. So, anyway, you are not the only one waiting. And I DID get my regular refund back through direct deposit, so I'm not expecting a paper check. I would just try to be patient, they are giving out money on a massive scale to tons of people, before they were going to do it in a three week period, now they are trying to get it all done in one week.

If you went through a tax service (turbotax, liberty, H&R) or whomever, and they deducted your filing “fees” from your refund, then you will NOT be getting your stimulus direct deposited and will instead be getting a check in the mail. This happens because: When you file through a tax service, and you have yours fees deducted from your return, the US Department of Treasury sends your return to that tax service, and then the tax service takes their cut, and “they” direct deposit the rest into your account. The US Dep of Treasury never actually has your bank account information during that process. However, if you filed and the tax service was free or you paid for your return out of your own pocket, then your stimulus will be deposited into the same bank account as your return. Hopefully all of that made since.

they are going to maximum in all danger deliver you a paper verify. We did not owe this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, yet had to fill out a 84xx some thing or yet another type when we discovered out our launch develop into held. even although we had placed direct deposit in for our tax go back, they are sending us a paper verify. We did call and ask fairly.

I'd check into it, maybe check with the other college. The college that my son is going to told me that the government would not pay until he had attended for two full weeks. I'm guessing that if he didn't start they would not receive any money. Do check into this. You don't need to start life off owing even more money that you have to owe. This is my sons first year also. I hate the fact that a 17 year old has to owe so much money.

Posting --"what was your best achievement of 2009?" would probably get reported as a chat violation. you are not asking a question with an answer based on facts you are asking others personal experiences which is chatting. The guidelines say---If the answers to your question are facts and data, as opposed to opinions, that is a good question. If you are seeking pure opinion, that is chat. If your question contains pronouns or pronoun forms (I,me,you, your,we,us,etc), your question is probably chat. Try writing the question without the pronoun. If you can't, it is definitely chatting.

That is a violation for chat. It is not seeking knowledge or advice and of no benefit to anyone. Read the community guidelines, take the quiz and learn what is acceptable and what is not. That is no different then asking "How Was Your Day"
