Question: i wrote a message to a friend and he didn't reply. i wrote: "Hi, how are you? How is ----? I know that when a person is in a coma, they may lose some or all their memory. sorry if this is rude to ask, been thinking about it since ---- woke up from the coma but did he lose any memory? wasn't sure if it was rude to ask. sorry if it is. i'm always afraid i end up saying something rude. was that rude? Should i try again? Change what i write? If i should change what i write then do you have any ideas what i should write instead? i want to keep the question in the message.

what you ask isn't rude. but up to now you have no reason to believe in any lose of a memory. even if it would have happend, it would be mostly temporary, but how to judge that now ? there could be the risk that you bother your friend, asking too often always the same things as long as he promised to keep you informed. i'm sure you want to avoid to be regarded as heavy-headed. you are pleased to show some tactfulness and to reduce your mails to some encouraging sentences, which he may need most at the moment. the best way to get answers is to put yourself in his shoes. actually he must be glad to be able to breath, to speak and to walk. thank god that he is on such a wonderful way and be patient with his situation and with yourself. our cards are hand-held by someone different.
