The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) wide its letter F No. AICTE/Academic/MOU-DEC/2005 dt. May 13, 2005 has specified that the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) are recognized by AICTE. The rest of the courses are approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC).

You're not going to be allowed to adjust status until the I-130 - which is the basis of your adjustment - is approved. When will it be approved? Sorry, but we aren't philosophers!

If you got the green card in the mail, I think this means I 130 was already approved because you can't get a green card without getting first approved for I 130.

Filling out the FAFSA is just the first step in a process. How long or short a time of it depends a lot on you and your school. If you gave FAFSA an email address they will likely email you a SAR (short for Student Aid Report) that will say something like... "Based on the information you gave us, and if all the information is correct... you (are or are not) eligible to receive a federal Pell grant, however you may be eligible to receive other types of aid at your school....." And then goes to list other things you must do and list if you have been selected for verification... Read your SAR carefully and follow all instructions. If in doubt - call fafsa or your financial aid office at your school....don't just sit on it and hope it'll work out... one innocent little error on the fafsa, a missed school code, mistyped ss number ... will delay the process. Any and all correspondence from FAFSA and your financial aid office should be responded to promptly... most of the time, when there are delays, it's because the student hasn't turned in something required to get their financial aid processed. I've seen some small schools get everything processed and have award letters out in less than a month, and some big I know are STILL working on award letters for those who applied last March!! It all depends on the school, but in all situations, the money is sent to the school to pay your bill. If there is money left over, they cut a check and you pick it up at your campus Bursar's office.

Usually all these things are done the year before the student wants to attend. For classes starting in Sept. 08, most applications for financial aid and applications/submissions for entry would be completed in Fall/early Winter 07. Obviously, it depends on the college you wish to attend. A community college timeline is much shorter than a large 4 year university. Many smaller colleges let you apply at any time, even, (depending on open places) until the day classes start. If you want federal financial aid (FAFSA), APPLY EARLY! I'd be applying soon for the next college year. The sooner you apply, the more you will get, and you will be (if you qualify) guaranteed that amount. If you apply later, you may not get as much, and the amount you receive will be for the entire school year, not just one semester. Checking the individual college's website will help give you deadlines and dates, as each college is different. Good luck on your college education. You'll never regret it!
