How to tell a friend your in love with them when they are moving away forever in a matter or weeks? Topic: How to write a letter about friendship

Question: OK basically about 18 months ago I met a girl who changed my life. Things didn't work out for her and we split up not long after dating but we always remained friends. Well around mid march this year we both moved in to a place together as flat mates. I was happy to just be best friends with her and to be honest she has been the best friend I've ever had. Well now she's pretty much committed to moving away which means I'll hardly ever see her. I can't bare that, she hasn't even moved yet and already I'm really starting to hurt. How can I tell her why it's hurting me so much? My life is going be empty without her being a part of it, even if just as a friend! I've got this terrible feeling that if I tell her how strongly I feel about her it'll just scare her in to leaving even more... any advise welcome. I'm talking to her online at the moment (she's currently staying where she's planning to move) and she's just confirming more and more she's doesn't feel the same way. It's hurts, but I guess it kinda helps me move on. There's no chance of friendship after this.

Unrequited love: been there, done that, bought the tee shirt, inked the book deal and sold the movie rights. I am torn (because of my personal experience): Either tell her because if you don't you'll regret it forever and you never know what could happen, or don't tell her *if* you know deep down inside that she doesn't return your feelings. I don't know what your instincts are telling you about her feelings toward you, but be sure to take those into consideration. I have had guy friends confess feelings for me on multiple occasions, and the friendships have always ended because it's just too awkward for us. However, the fact that she's leaving could be a blessing in disguise. What have you got to lose? If I were in your situation, I would seriously contemplate writing her a letter and mailing it after she moves so she can read it at her new place. Then it will be up to her whether to contact you. If she feels the same way, she may decide it's not worth pursuing because she's already moved. If that's the case, she's probably not "the one" anyway. I think the bottom line sometimes in these situations is realizing that you need to get it off your chest so you can heal...or realize that that person isn't right for you anyway, in which case the healing can also begin.

You cannot ask her to stay, especially if you love her, because that's not fair. You should, however, let her know how you feel, if you truly believe the time is right. If not, maybe you should wait until the time is right. Are you in a position to move with her possibly? If not, then I would wait to let her know how you feel. Long-distance relationships are extremely hard to keep up and rarely ever work out in the end. Why did you two break up in the first place? Do you think this will still be an issue if you got back together? Remember, this is still important, if not to you but to her. Good Luck with everything, Mahalo! Also, its very easy to mistake great feelings of appreciation and love for somone for being IN love with somone. thnk about that as well.

Tell her how you feel! You may feel stupid, foolish and like a complete idiot for 5 seconds but at least you can say you tried. The worst thing you could do is never do anything about it and regret never telling her how you feel. In that case, you will feel stupid foolish and like an idiot for much longer than 5 seconds. Tell her how you feel, it will open her eyes and make her think about your relationship.

Tell her how you feel and if she wants you too then find a way to make it work. But just know that she might be scared away by her best friend confessing his love for her. But if you tell her that you at least want to say friends than maybe she will. I would. answer mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtdnYUpcYrEn2Luac2_0q2Psy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081024160401AAsmjSe

hmm. there's probably nothing you really need to do, just keep nurturing the friendship and nudge it in the right direction when you can. It sounds like that's happening anyway, and why not? You know each other well, have been friends for a long time. The best relationships between men & women usually start out as good frienships. So, nurture it and let it happen.. maybe not overnight but let it come as it will :) ruin your friendship? well, better to take a chance than have 'what ifs' later on and wonder. The prize is wonderful relationship and chance at love. Good luck and enjoy!
