Windows 7 typing problems?

Windows 7 typing problems? Topic: Letter i starting words for essays
June 25, 2019 / By Chalice
Question: Each time I type the letter 'n' or 'b' in any word processor (Works, OpenOffice, etc) with the exception of notepad and wordpad, the selection tool does something weird. In Microsoft Works, it starts to select text from the last letter typed, and then just keeps selecting text (until all of it is selected), and doesn't actually type anything. Usually it fixes itself if I use a control function (ctrl + s or ctrl + z -> y) Similar problems with Open Office. Makes it very troublesome to right any essays because the same problem came up with all 4 different word processors I tried. I'm using a laptop keyboard. write* essays. Just had to do that. Anyway, I'll try disabling my touchpad :) Ironically enough, the button to disable the touchpad stopped working before the keyboard started messing with me.

Sounds like a common laptop touchpad issue. I suggest turning off your touch pad if possible, if not possible then your laptop is one of those designed by Satan and manufactured in hell. If you're wondering how could touch pad cause this, it can by being either broken, too sensitive, too big or badly designed so it picks up hand movements even while you're just trying to type something. Dell laptops are known for this.

I've had the exact same problem with Dell laptops. The problem always had to do with the touchpad being too sensitive or simply buggy. Just the slightest whisper of a touch by your thumb and it starts selecting text. My advice, disable the touchpad and use an external mouse. Only other option would be to make a little flip cover for the touchpad, keep it covered when typing.

Windows 7 is an operating system from Microsoft that is available in six different editions: Starter, Basic, Premium, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate. A variety of problems may occur while using Windows 7, such as network issues, driver problems, software crashes or more. Microsoft has integrated a few troubleshooting tools into the operating system that will aid you in identifying and correcting your computer's problems. Difficulty: Easy Instructions 1 Click the "Windows Action Center" flag notification icon on the desktop toolbar to view the system problems. Windows Action Center will appear in the notification menu only if Windows has identified a system problem. Click on the listed error if one is available; if more than one problem is listed, click on the first problem initially, then each subsequent problem after the previous one is resolved. Follow the prompt that appears. Windows will automatically identify a solution, then will request permission to fix the issue. Click the "OK" button to authorize the fix. 2 Run the Windows 7 "Troubleshooting" menu by clicking "Start" and typing "Troubleshooting" into the search field, then pressing "Enter." The Troubleshooting feature in Windows allows you to run general troubleshooting tasks for a variety of generic problems, such as making applications designed for an older version of Windows work properly, or restoring a lost network connection. Scroll through the list for a troubleshooting solution that most adequately relates to your problem. For example, select "Troubleshoot Audio Recording" if you are unable to record audio with your microphone or off your sound card. Follow the prompts that appear, then authorize Windows to apply the solution it identifies by clicking the "OK" button. 3 Open the "Reliability Monitor" by clicking "Start," then typing "Reliability Monitor" into the search field. Scroll through the log on the Reliability Monitor after it opens and look for the most common recurring problems, which are listed with a red "X" icon. Click on the icon to see the specific problem. For example, you might see frequent instances of video hardware failure, which could indicate that your video card is going bad or that your system is running the wrong video driver. Click "Check for Solution" next to the problem to have Windows analyze the error and search for a solution. If a solution is identified, either follow the repair directions or authorize Windows to apply the fix by clicking the "OK" button.

Hi this is a question of configuration which would need the operating system reloading. that is the first part. the second part is Microsoft are not happy with people using other software so much so that with windows 8 which is about to be released. that they have made it impossible to use software like open office with this operating system. this is there answer to people using software other than what they sell. so you will be tied to MICROSOFT in the future. unless you switch to the free software market. or buy a MAC

I was wondering if you had accidentally turned on StickyKeys? I'm on XP so I don't know where it is in Windows 7, but if you open Help and search, it should find it.

Before you re install windows, you can always try restoring windows from a restore point. this will bring your computer back to a previous state before u got the virus. to do this go to... Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. From there choose a restore point from BEFORE u got the virus and load it from there. If that Does not help, then yes you could always use the CD. But, you have to do more then just pop the CD in. To reinstall Windows with the cd... 1. If you have a Windows 7 CD, place it in the CD drive. 2.Restart your computer. 3.When it says "Boot from CD..." press Enter. You may need to change the Boot order settings in your BIOS. Some computers will boot from the hard drive first. You need to change this. When you turn you computer on, press F4 as it boots, to get into the BIOS menu. Put "CD-ROM" as the first item the computer will try to boot from. 4.Wait for the CD to load, then follow the on-screen instructions. Also here is a link to a Video on youtube on how to do it step by step... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=iv&... One little side note. On the Video when he tells you to press F2 to go to the Bios on Start up and change your settings, You can also do this quickly and temporally by pressing F10 instead. (If u dont understand this, then just follow the video as shown.
