Two families traveling in Kauai in early April: looking for recommendations? Topic: The sisters islands
July 17, 2019 / By Thaddeus
Question: We're planning to travel to Kauai in early April with my wife's sister's family (between us there will be four adults and five kids ages 5-11). Any recommendations on where on the island we should stay and accommodations? The ideal situation would be a beach house or condo big enough for the two families. The families get along well and generally prefer to cook versus eating out.

Check out www.vrbo.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner). I have used them several times and have never had a bad experience. I recommend the Poipu area since April is still rainy season here (I live on Kauai) and Princeville/Hanalei are typically the wettest areas of the island. You will still want to go up to Princeville to look around and maybe spend some time at the beaches up north, but spending your whole vacation there might be a disappointment because of the rain.

Yes, the Grand Hyatt in Kauai is a very nice resort in Poipu. They have the BEST luau on the island. That said, there are a lot of places to stay on Kauai that are fabulous, so you want to get the best place for the money. If you go on eBay and type in "Kauai" you will find resorts that you can bid on. If they're timeshares, you can go to RCI.com to see reviews and find out if they are good resorts (gold crown versus silver or hospitality). You can get great resorts there relatively inexpensively if you're willing to do a little research. I own a week at Poipu Point and it's an excellent resort, and there are many others. As for what you can do on Kauai, here are a couple of articles I wrote about things to do there. I've been there many times and it's a wonderful place. http://www.suite101.com/content/kauai-hawaii--one-of-the-most-romantic-honeymoon-destinations-a263526 http://www.suite101.com/content/great-hikes-on-the-island-of-kauai-a306496 Good luck and have fun. I have been to the Grand Hyatt Kauai but never stayed there. It is VERY high end. What is the average rate per night per room? this will very depending on your dates. Is there a work out room? yes Do you get lei's when you arive? doubtful. I've never gotten a lei at any HI hotel Is there a nice bar? super cool bar However, with kids, I would recommend that you stay in the Princeville area of Kauai. I think it's more charming and a better area that youngsters will enjoy.

One place that might suit you is the Makai cottages in Princeville. http://www.redweek.com/resort/P1784-wynd... I stayed there last month. This is a time share resort, but you can just rent a place there. These are 2-bedroom, 2-bath houses that are quite old but recently refurbished. They might not be quite large enough for you, but for anything short of a rented house, this might be your best deal. If this is not large enough for you, you will likely have to go for a rented home. Try to Google "Kauai vacation rentals." Edit: I may not live on Kauai, but I just spent 4 weeks in Princeville in December and January. "Rainy season" in Hawaii does not mean constant bad weather. Yes, if you want less rain, Po'ipu has that, but Princeville is nice year round.

~to your brownies, why do not you are trying quite a few stages of cupcakes or perhaps evaluate making your very own cake? or possibly you have a pal that went by using a sort of cake adorning classes and could make it as your present. whats up, whether it tooks out slightly stupid-looking, the travellers will love that it incredibly is selfmade and it is so substantial to be adaptive and do significant issues rather of a ordinary tutor. whether, i've got even heard of cake adorning CONTESTS, the place each and every table gets a straightforward white $5 around cake and a few adorning aspects and after dinner each and every table decorates a cake for you and your better half. you additionally can get a $2 customized trophy from eBay which you will award to the winning table. ~rather of procuring for an high priced bouquet, have the ushers hand a flower to all the travellers sitting on the two end of the aisle. Then, as you're strolling down it (in case you could focus sufficient!) take a flower out of your travellers and make your bouquet as your walk. I heard approximately somebody doing this who enjoyed making the travellers element of the ceremony besides. ~it incredibly is incredibly not a cunning theory, yet once you're getting married in a non secular or widespread wedding ceremony region throughout a hectic wedding ceremony weekend, evaluate splitting the vegetation, centerpieces, and different decorations with the different couple getting married the comparable day or weekend! vegetation will do effective for the day and centerpieces final continually. ~Make your very own centerpieces with despite you will get at Wal*Mart or on clearance at Michael's and make your very own guestbook by using masking a sparkling scrapbooking album with something wedding ceremony-like. ~See if there's a great variety of decorations on ebay or Craigslist from somebody who has a team of issues leftover from their very own wedding ceremony. i'm not even looking and that i see "50 typhoon glasses for centerpieces" each and every of the time on Craigslist. sturdy good fortune!

right now im in the same boat- i decided to stop studying for tonight and finish studying early tomorrow morning it's really better to get everything done at night and stay up late, because in the morning you dont have enough time to account for any mistakes you might encounter but I really get up early most of the time myself to finish my work..
