NEED FUNDRAISING IDEAS? Topic: Case scholarship application
June 20, 2019 / By Laryn
Question: I have been nominated for People to People, a program that takes students all over the world to live with people from different countries. I REALLY want to go but it is about $2,500 to go... Any ideas on how to raise money other than just asking?

You've probably already seen People to People's Pay Your Way webpage but just in case, you should see if their tools and tips and the online fundraising tool PeerBacker can help at all. http://p2ppayyourway.com/. There's also a new blog post on the People to People blog about a student that raised $2,000 through a yard sale: http://peopletopeopleblogs.com/2011/10/big-results-neighborhood-bonding/. Also they're accepting applications for 50 full tuition scholarships: http://www.peopletopeople.com/PTP%20Documents/scholarshipContest/default.aspx.

Try by getting a free fundraising kit from various websites. It's a great way to learn more about the fundraising options they offer. With the right information and the right tools they can help you make your next fundraiser a success. All fundraising groups are going to have to sell their items to generate money. Everyone starts with selling to mom and dad then moves on to friends. The more successful the campaign means the more people you will actually have to talk to. Here are a collection of sales tips you can use to help you while you are raising funds. - Have fun and enjoy what you are doing. It is not necessary to have a canned speech and perform it by memory. You can talk to people and have fun with your campaign, the donors will pick up on this and sales will increase. - Be honest while making the rounds for sales. You are a representative of your school group. - People do not want to be told what to do. Your job is to make people feel good about donating to your school group. - When you get a no, don’t take it personally. The donors are not saying they don’t like you; they just may not care for the product or have the money available at the time. - For people who are nervous about selling a little preparation is key. By practicing your sales talk it will bring confidence. Again the goal is not to recite something word for word but to talk about your fundraising campaign with confidence. It might sound a little funny but try role-playing if selling is an issue with you. Spend time with people rehearsing just talking and getting past an objection or two. - Avoid hard selling. There is no need to be pushy while fundraising. People like to help out and also enjoy buying. You may even be able to offer them the chance to show up to school to check out the new equipment, or the new uniforms for the baseball team. By being friendly and a good representative you just might pick up new volunteers along the way. - If possible get a booth or a table in a high traffic area. Places like malls or local events. This will get you lots of traffic and potential donors that you can approach. These sales tips are good for whatever sales you might find yourself in. You might even consider these tips good advice for talking to people and relating. Remember interacting with people will serve you better than just about any learned skill taught. A little preparation with these tips will insure that your fundraising campaign is both fun and profitable.

A lot of times people are not motivated to give because of Free bezzz....people love to give to passionate people who really believe in what they are raising money for. A Personal Fundraising Page can help accomplish the following: 1. Communicate a need 2. Communicate Passion 3. Communicate how much you have to go and how much you have raised 4. Communicate what you are going to do with the funds 5. Communicate how thankful you are they believe in you and what your trying to do 6. Updates, plus a lot more. There are a lot of great websites that can help. some are free: Chiping.com is good if you are raising money for something simple where you don't want to get into too much detail. YouCaring.com would be my pick if you want to raise money and have many options in communicating (video, pictures, update, ect) Great for adoption, missions, tuition, medical expenses - big plus is it is free - they run on donations. Kickstart is a good option if you need to raise money for business ventures. Hope this helps.

Try www.oldworldcoffee.com using a fresh roast line for fundraising, very interesting and I know a few people who have used this and love it. Other ideas might be to pre-buy some items and sell them door to door, or ask local businesses and professionals for a sponsorship. Good Luck.

Empty the shampoo bottle and fill it with baby oil. Your friend would always be in a hurry in the morning to have a bath. Imagine his/her surprise to find an oily substance trickling out from the shampoo bottle during the bath. Use some shaving cream or ketchup and place it at places such as the backside of the handle of a refrigerator or the lower portion of the doorknob. You can imagine the irritation when someone actually tries to open the refrigerator or door only to find gooey stuff on the hands Get a balloon and put it on the tailpipe of a truck, ferrari, etc. (Make sure the car isn't already on!) Then get in it and have your parents start it up and it will pop. It will sound like the tire popped. Use a 3M Post-it notes placed underneath someones's computer mouse - ensure that it covers the ball or the optical sensor on the bottom. When they go to use the mouse, it won't work! On the 3M Post-it simply write April Fool
