My teacher says she has this close-to-psychic ability of predicting themes for the thematic essay. She says it's going to be turning points. I don't agree with her, though. I have a feeling it's gonna be on Golden Ages (relating to the theme Culture and Intellectual Life). There are 24 themes in the New York State Standards for Global History and Geography. What I've noticed is they've only used the Culture and Intellectual Life theme twice. Have they not used any themes yet? Let's see... Justice, I don't think they've used that one- Scarcity, I don't think they utilized. Nation-states? Don't think they've used that yet. So it could be one of those. I think it's going to be Golden Ages. That's my top guess. My second best guess is Individuals since a lot of times, what occurred was that after many two-year cycles of examinations, they either repeated the same topic or did a slight variation on it. So it could be a pattern. BUT! There have been six cycles of six exams, so I'm gonna go all Mayan Calendar and say that there's gonna possibly be something new. Like Nation-states or Scarcity. But my MAIN guess is Golden Ages. But my advice- there's 24 themes. Know two topics for each theme, and then BAAAAAAM, 5 essay, let's do this.
