Do you think social services should get involved with some of the families on How Clean is your House?

Do you think social services should get involved with some of the families on How Clean is your House? Topic: Watch case show houses
June 17, 2019 / By Shannah
Question: I'm watching it at the moment (in the pits of unemployment atm :) )and it is shocking!! Maggots falling into the beds. Flies laying eggs in their rooms! rotting food in the kitchen, not even a place to cook a meal. A five year old lives in that house. Surely that has to be neglect??? What's to say that these disgraceful people won't go back to living in complete filth after a few months? I don't usually over react but it is a disgrace to have a child living in those conditions...and then to treat it so flippantly in a crap tv show.

I haven't seen that episode, although I know what you mean after having seen quite a few. I am amazed some of them have the nerve to show the house to the nation. I'd be ashamed that the school teachers would feel sorry for my kids and be terrified the other mothers would report me, as you say to Social Services. There was actually a referral made to Social Services following an episode of Wife Swap, I'll try and find a link for you. Basically (in case I can't) she fed her baby Quavers for breakfast then spent 9 hours addicted to facebook, never cooked, the hubby got take out on his way home from work never played with the child, just dumped it in front of the TV.

A lot of times the authorities do watch some shows. Especially talk shows like Dr. Phil or reality shows. Just a good example how something can turn around and bite you....is the case of balloon boy...where the media pulled out their time on Wife Swap. Gloria Allred and child protection authorities went after both Michael Jackson & Britney Spears based on something they saw on the news.

Yes if there is a child in the house I remember our house used to be something like that But the last thing we needed were more authority figures in the house

It is a shame that so many children are victims in their own home. People who are too sorry to keep a clean home for children to live in are also prone to committing child abuse in other areas as well. Social services can only do so much, but many fall short of doing what they can!

Oh it's grumples!!!! you know since you're unemployed you'd think you'd be here more than you are.. Obviously IDK that show, but if there's maggots and rotting food there should be social services involvement. I don't know how some people live the way they do.

Your question is confusing. Did you buy the house? Do you have title insurance? Or are you still trying to buy on condition that the liens will be satisfied? If the sale is final and you did not receive clear title then you probably have liens on the property or one as the case may be. Never buy property without a title search and the condition that you receive clear title.
