Find something you are passionate about. I like a darker feel but not depressing. I read the poem "Hollow Men" by T.S. Eliot. It gave me a good view of what a well written poem is like. "This is how the world ends, This is how the world ends, This is how the world ends, Not with a bang but with a whimper."

Xora, poems come from a different place in our mind...they come from the realm of dreams...you need to shift into a trance (that is what happens when we fall asleep) this trance state can be slight to the degree that you TURN OFF your internal dialogue...and allow your dream visions to rise to the surface and there you simply "pluck" them art is that part of you... that is not you...the more you remove your ego the greater the art...selflessness is our spirit! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ i give you no poem there are no words for you to read you can not point out the invisible it simply can not be done aim with a finger and say it's somewhere over here it is unspeakable thinner than touch i send you no poem what i give you is the ineffable the shibboleth of silence that only the spirit can speak

Well write about the night. About how many stars alight the night. And the moon great bright.. How a cloud pass by .. And when the moon stood so high you realize than her end was just to begin etc. etc. etc... you get the concept. Just put some nice words

well what I usually do, is I think about what i want to say in the poem, then i write it out with out rhyming or anything, then I go back, and replace words, and just get that flow.. idk, works for me. But i write lyrics, but it's basically poetry.

can't think of anything Don't think FEEL! Write what you feel about. Give a verbal picture of your feelings in terms of your experience! Simple for beginners and youngsters!
