While most states have regulations as to when a person is considered a 'resident' you need to remember that any school that receives Title IV funding can basically 'trump' state rules. In Colorado for example, a person is considered a state resident after 30 days and carry a state drivers license and register their motor vehicle here. That said, schools in this state can require a student to live here a year and in some cases two years to be considered a resident. It is really up to the financial aid director at the individual school. In state tuition is a benefit to the residents of the state. Schools have out of state tuition because in most cases a student leaves the state immediately after school. They never put back into the state system ie: taxes.

In order to claim residency in a state, you need to have lived there for at least a year - sometimes longer, depending on the requirements of the school. Because you're a dependant of your parents, they'd need to live there. And you'd need to prove that by, for example, not having your high school transcripts being from a school in NY. So your idea won't work.

That's called fraud, dear. I would not suggest even trying it. (And it's not the most original idea. People try this all the time.) Don't you think things are going to look a bit suspicious when you send a transcript from a New York high school you're currently attending but "claim" to live in PA?

Open your XL file then open a new Word document. Select your type of document (letter, envelope, label etc) and then select Mail Merge. Use the wizard to aid you in producing the address but basically all you do is select the XL file as your data source, then add the fields from XL to the document ie Title, insert a space, FirstName, insert a space, Last Name, carriage return or linefeed, Company and so on. When you have finished with the layout format the text to suit your preference (bold, italic, font, size etc). You can also select those contacts whom you don't want to print out. This is a basic description of what to do, if you follow the wiard instructions you won't go far wrong.
