Size of carry on luggage?

Size of carry on luggage? Topic: Airlines suitcase size
June 25, 2019 / By Florinda
Question: I recently purchased luggage and it was supposed to be 14 inches x 9 inches x 22 inches or 45 linear inches, but in reality it's 15x9x22 (46 linear inches). Do you think this will be a major problem with TSA? Or will I be able to get away with the 1 inch difference?

The TSA could care less how big your suitcase is, it's your airline that matters. You probably will get away with the extra inch, but you never know for sure until you get on the plane. Some airlines have a metal frame that your bag must fit into, if it doesn't, you may have to check it.

Sure, but I'd recommend having a case for your laptop - otherwise, it might get a bit banged up from being carried around all day. EDIT: Oh, I see what you mean! Yes, that's allowed. You might want to put a sticker with your name on it on the corner, or tie a ribbon around it - lots of laptops get mistaken at security, so just make sure you know it's yours. :)

I fly Air Canada all the time and I can assure you that they don't consider the laptop to be a separate item just because they want to x-ray it separately. They don't count your shoes separately either, even though most North American airports want to x-ray those, too.

It is very important to go to your airline carrier website and look for their specific size limitations. They list their dimensions on their website, or should. Usually the highest you can use is classified as a 20 inch rolling suitcase that fits comfortably in the overheard compartment. If you are making a quick trip, use a book bag and throw your purse (if you use one) inside one of the bags. The book bag needs to be placed under the seat in front of you though. Depending on the company, you should find their website on this page somewhere: http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Travel_and_Transportation/Airlines/

Yes, that's fine. If it all fits under the seat in front of you (or in the overhead bin) in a bag or small rollaboard suitcase, that is fine. It won't be weird/suspicious at all; many people don't check luggage, for the same reasons you describe. Just remember that if you are bringing any liquids (shampoo, lotion, nail polish, etc.) and you're not checking any bags, then all of your liquids will have to comply with TSA's 3-1-1 rule for liquids in carryon bags. http://www.tsa.gov/311/

you ought to comprehend that it remains greater low value to fly than it became 30 years in the past in spite of the greater expenditures. you won't be able to discover too many different issues in this international that are inexpensive than they have been 3 many years in the past. That being reported, seem at gas costs and the airlines nevertheless ought to cover their expenditures to fly you and your stuff from factor A to point B. An unlucky backlash of the airlines charging for checked bags is that every person now brings each and every thing and the kitchen sink onboard inflicting delays, injuries to flight attendants attempting that should assist you elevate your 2 hundred lb bag, or maybe breaking the overhead boxes by technique of cramming obese products into them (sure this has got here approximately two times this summer season on flights I worked). through fact the airlines charge a top classification for convenience, i think of that charging greater for bypassing bags declare and the cost tag counter by technique of having your bag onboard is a logical decision. regardless of if i think of ways some airlines nickle and dime people needs to alter. they could desire to in straightforward terms upload the greater $30 to the cost of all tickets and permit you one loose checked bag and permit one loose very own merchandise (as long because it suits under the seat). in the event that they're charging for checked and carry ons, almost every person is paying some thing besides. in simple terms make it one greater $20 to apply the overhead boxes. you're nevertheless paying below you're able to have in 1982. I see all airlines (different than possibly southwest) going to this coverage as delays, placed on & tear on planes and flight attendant injuries through maintain on bags are escalating at a rediculous value those days.
