Question: somebody tells me it should be expressed by "so-so",but i don`t think so,is there any other better way to express that??? thank you ~!

Adequate, ordinary, all right, tolerable, about a C. John's essay was adequate, so he got a C. Sally's outfit was ordinary, but it got her into the Halloween party. Do you like my new shoes? They're all right. Is the music too loud? It's tolerable. What do you think of my new hairstyle? I'd give it about a C.
